100% headphones album. is pretty weird and understated, takes a few listens to sink in. a much slower tone than i usually care for, so this is much more of a mood piece.

the first two listens (on headphones) i was kinda disappointed. felt awkward and uninspired. the third time (via stereo) i paid less attention and then it just grabbed me. doesn't feel cohesive and it doesn't need to be.the last track is unpleasant to listen to still, but maybe that's the point. strange, strange, strange.

Truly superb. Album of the Year. Words fail me. Listen to the whole album in one sitting with no distractions. Sublime. A modern symphony in many ways of Mahler-like proportions. Truly incredible. Best thing I’ve heard in years.
